Kate Parker and Julie Nolan met in 1995 while studying at the John Bolton Theatre School, Melbourne. They returned to New Zealand shortly after, and quickly established themselves as entrepreneurial theatre artists creating, performing, producing and teaching their craft. Collaborations to date include Moahunting 2001, The Butcher’s Daughter 2003, Beyond The Blue 2008, The Arrival 2009 and Paper Sky 2011.
In 2010 Kate was honoured by the Arts Foundation of New Zealand with a New Generation Award. Julie received the Chapman Tripp Theatre Award - Best Director for her work on The Arrival.
Parker and Nolan are also experienced educators and Red Leap offers a range of workshop and residency packages for teachers, practitioners and students.
